Spend bridge money on downtown

The City of St. Charles admits it has a problem with a vibrant downtown as Mark Prieve spoke of July 5 at the St. Charles City Council meeting, yet Mayor Don DeWitte and the council continue to want to route traffic away from Main Street. They cannot have it both ways.

It defies logic, so this proves anyone who voted for the Red Gate Bridge project is not a logical person and should be removed from office if they are spending citizens’ tax dollars.

Citizens, do not let your free-spending mayor and council throw $30 million at a bridge to nowhere when that money should be spent making our downtown shopping area as nice as Geneva’s.
