Where is leadership in Congress?

Mr. McConnell stated, ‘we cannot succeed with this President.’ To me, this lacks decency. If a Democrat said this about Bush, he would have been deemed unpatriotic.

Also, why are the Republicans negotiating with Obama if they don’t feel an agreement can be reached? Further, Obama has been flexible beyond the preference of many in his Party.

Mr. Cantor recently walked-out of negotiations, which isn’t what a leader should do. This could be due to him having an investment that does better when there appears to be instability in the nation.

Why is he a participant in such negotiations? Mr. Boehner has implied that we cannot end tax cuts, even to organizations that don’t appear to need them. He also appears to be against important programs that almost every American has benefited from or knows people that have benefited from.

These ‘leaders’ demonstrated little concern over what they and their president spent a few years ago. Yet now, they’ve questioned the need for public health spending and have continued the costly, unproven Bush tax cuts.

They’re against being able to obtain a high quality public education and health care reform, though they want a productive nation. (While not perfect, health care reform will save the government money.) They haven’t offered to consider how much is spent on Congressional compensation or preventing Congress from voting for their own pay raises.
