Cougars’ losing streak hits 5

The Kane County Cougars’ losing streak reached five games Sunday with a 6-4 loss to the Great Lakes Loons at Elfstrom Stadium.

The five-game skid is the Cougars’ longest home losing streak this season. They are 4-13 against the Eastern Division but still in at least a tie for the top playoff spot in the Western Division.

After not leading in any of their previous four games, the Cougars finally grabbed an advantage. Orlando Calixte hit a 2-run single to make it 2-0.

It was the Cougars’ first lead in 36 innings.

The Cougars (13-10, 41-51) and Loons (14-9, 53-39) wrap up the series today at noon.
