Police were called to the apartment regarding the incident, but did not find the victim at the scene. They discovered the victim had been transported to Edward Hospital by a friend, where he was being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Police discovered Poole and the victim were in a verbal spat that became heated, which ultimately escalated to Poole slashing the victim's face with a knife.

Poole was taken into custody by police at the apartment and the weapon used was recovered.

Poole was charged with one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and is expected to appear in bond court later this morning.
