Milwaukee Public Museum to host Cleopatra exhibit

MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Public Museum is hosting an exhibit on Egypt's legendary queen Cleopatra.

It features nearly 150 artifacts, including statuary, jewelry, daily items, coins and religious tokens, from Cleopatra's time.

The exhibition combines rare artifacts with photos and underwater video footage on modern-day expeditions that are attempting to solve mysteries that still surround the rule of the queen who lived from 69 B.C. to 30 B.C.

The exhibit is called "Cleopatra: The Search for the Last Queen of Egypt" and Milwaukee be the third stop on its world tour. It starts Oct. 14.

It was organized by the National Geographic Society and Arts and Exhibitions International.
