Agent testifies at bail hearing for Bulger's lover

BOSTON — A bail hearing for the longtime girlfriend of former crime boss James "Whitey" Bulger has featured testimony from an FBI agent about several calls the couple made to people in Boston while they were on the run.

Catherine Greig (grehg) is charged with harboring a fugitive and is seeking bail with electronic monitoring and home confinement. Prosecutors oppose that.

The agent also testified Monday that Greig was seen handing Bulger prepaid calling cards he used at a pay phone in Louisiana, one of the places the pair spent time after they fled Boston.

The FBI agent described Grieg and Bulger's movements from early 1995 to late 1996. He said they were in Grand Isle, La., New York and Chicago.

Greig was apprehended with Bulger in Santa Monica, Calif., last month.
