When a builder and an interior designer team up to create their own personal dream house, the result is usually pretty spectacular.

That is certainly the case with a custom, all-brick colonial home in Arlington Heights that came on the market in mid-June.

The impeccably decorated and designed four-bedroom home, located on a cul-de-sac near St. Viator High School, features a large marble foyer, formal dining room with butler's pantry, living room, family room, kitchen, den/guest room, powder room and laundry room on the first floor. Three more bedrooms and two full baths are featured upstairs while the finished basement offers another half bath.

In addition, when the weather permits, the fenced and lushly landscaped backyard has a lovely in-ground pool that family members and guests alike may enjoy.

Listing agent Bill Farrell of RE/MAX Suburban in Mount Prospect adds further details:

What's the hidden gem in this house?

"The decorating is the gem of this interior designer-owned home. And since it is also owned by a builder, it has a lot of upgrades."

What would your perfect buyer look like?

"He or she would be a cash buyer with no contingencies."

What surprises you about this house?

"It has a really big backyard, due to it being on a cul-de-sac."

If this house were featured on a television show, which one would it be?

" 'The Brady Bunch' because of the great school, in-ground pool and the fact that it is located near parks."

What is the coolest thing about living in this neighborhood?

"It is walking distance to vibrant downtown Arlington Heights, as well as two minutes to Mariano's grocery store."

What's one adjective you would use to describe the house?

"Gorgeous."

Name three plants, flowers or trees in the yard.

"Beautiful birch tree, hostas and lush ground cover."
