Blagojevich spokesman: Airline ad in ‘bad taste’

A Rod Blagojevich spokesman says a Florida-based airline’s new ad poking fun at the impeached Illinois governor’s convictions is “in poor taste.”

Low-budget carrier Spirit Airlines’ website ad touts “f-ing golden” low fares.

That refers to Blagojevich convictions for trying to sell President Barack Obama’s vacated U.S. Senate seat.

FBI wiretaps captured Blagojevich saying that naming Obama’s successor was an “f---ing golden” opportunity.

Spokesman Glenn Selig released a statement Wednesday noting Blagojevich has a wife and two daughters and that “nothing about what’s happened is funny.”

The commercial features a man with thick hair like Blagojevich’s. Ad text also says, “We are guilty of selling seats, but don’t expect this sale to serve much time.”

Airline spokeswoman Misty Pinson declined any comment on the ad or the statement from Selig.
