Dusk Saturday, July 2, as part of the "Racing, Music and Fireworks" event at Arlington Park, 2200 W. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights. More than 30 minutes of fireworks, with a mix of patriotic and popular music. Spectators will be admitted only with a ticket for racing. Aurora

Dusk Monday, July 4, at Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, 1500 W. Sullivan Road, on property bounded by Edgelawn Drive, Sullivan, Randall and Indian Trail roads, Aurora. Music, food vendors and kids' activities start at 6 p.m. A patriotic ceremony will be held at 8 p.m. and the American Legion Post 84 Band plays at 8:30 p.m. Free. (630) 256-3370.
