Grant information

Agricultural cooperatives, local governments and nonprofit corporations are eligible to apply.

The money aims to fund projects that help improve and expand farmers markets, roadside stands and community-supported agriculture programs.

Projects that expand healthy food choices in food deserts will be a priority.

Simon says food producers can use the money to expand access to local foods and promote healthy eating. And she says that in turn boosts the economy.
