Michna, Rush put hex on VooDoo

Quarterback Russ Michna threw 6 touchdown passes to lead the Chicago Rush to a lopsided 50-28 Arena Football League victory over the New Orleans VooDoo at the Allstate Arena on Saturday night.

The Rush retired coach Bob McMillen’s No. 44 jersey in a halftime ceremony.

Michna, who completed 17 of 22 passes for 213 yards without an interception, connected with receiver Reggie Gray for 3 touchdowns, including a 45-yard score. Gray caught 9 passes for 165 yards.

Charles Dillon and Todd Devoe also caught touchdown passes for the Rush (5-2).

Vic Hall picked off a pair of passes from QB Chris Wallace of the VooDoo (106), one of which he returned for a TD. Kelvin Morris also had a Rush interception.

The Rush rolled up 23 points in the first quarter and led 36-14 at halftime.

Jason Simpson led the Rush defense with 11 tackles and Greg James had 10.
