Arlington Hts. in national drug collection program

The Arlington Heights Police Department will participate in the second National Take-Back program to help residents remove unwanted prescription drugs from their homes.

Anyone can bring in unwanted, unused and expired pharmaceuticals and other medications.

The program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, is anonymous and free. It will occur in the front lobby of the Arlington Heights Police Department, 200 E. Sigwalt. St., just east of Village Hall.

No liquid products or intravenous solutions or syringes will be accepted.

It is important to get rid of unneeded drugs so they are not abused or accidentally ingested, said officials of the Drug Enforcement Administration. However, throwing them in the garbage or flushing down the toilet is not safe or healthy.

For additional information contact Commander Kenneth Galinski at (847) 368-5413.
