Mayor Daley opens Chicago's Buckingham Fountain
Chicago's Mayor Richard Daley has opened the city's famed Buckingham Fountain for the spring and summer seasons.
Daley was at the more than 80-year-old fountain early Friday as the water started to flow. It's the last time he'll open the fountain. Daley is retiring this May after more than 20 years in office.
Daley told WLS-TV that "the future is bright" for the city.
The popular lakefront fountain is one of Chicago's most recognizable images with its towering stream of water and evening light shows.
