Walsh: A typical day
WASHINGTON — Saying he's out to make a difference — fast, Illinois' 8th District Rep. Joe Walsh has been moving at a breakneck pace since arriving in Washington, D.C., in January.
The secret to Walsh's pace? A lot of black coffee, he says.
Here's a look at a typical day:
• 7:30 a.m.: GOP Breakfast.
• 8:30 a.m.: Staff briefing on upcoming day.
• 8:45 a.m.: Radio interview with WIND 560 AM.
• 9 a.m.: Taping Facebook video answers to constituent questions, video explaining his vote on a temporary government funding bill.
• 9:15 a.m.: Daily Herald interview.
• 9:45 a.m.: Visit with pro-Israel student group from Evanston, Skokie and Wilmette.
• 10 a.m. Homeland Security meeting.
• 10:30 a.m.: Speaks with constituents by cell phone, on walk back to office.
• 11 a.m.: Asian carp meeting.
• 11:30 a.m.: Meeting with representatives from Special Olympics Illinois and Best Buddies International.
• Noon: Lunch with Republican Study Committee.
• 1 p.m.: Small business committee hearing.
• 3:30 p.m.: Meeting with McHenry County Republicans.
• Afternoon: Votes on the House floor.
