Hanover Park woman charged with making false police report

A Hanover Park woman has been charged with felony disorderly conduct, accused of filing a false report claiming her prescription medication was stolen.

Maria C. Raimondi, 27, of the 2200 block of Waterfall Lane, told St. Charles police March 9 that her medication had been stolen from her room in a hotel in the 4000 block of East Main Street.

Police discovered, however, that she had filed similar claims with other police departments. In May 2010, Hanover Park police arrested her on a disorderly conduct charge, accusing her of filing a false report. She was found guilty March 2 in DuPage County Circuit Court and sentenced to supervision and community service.

According to St. Charles Police Sgt. Roger Anderson, when questioned, Raimondi admitted to filing a false report to get a police report to show her doctor, in order to obtain more medication.

She was arrested Thursday, and posted $2,500 bond Friday afternoon and was released.
