Barrington Hills voters have job to do

The April 5 election for four Barrington Hills village trustees is about choosing positive thinking, hardworking volunteer leaders who will listen to us, leaders committed to saving the historical character of our village.

Please attend coffees for ALL candidates, and then do your fact-checking. Listen for candidates who have a civil and focused message. Listen for candidates who will make you proud to be a part of this village, candidates who send a message of welcome to Barrington Hills, candidates of strong personal character.

Listen for the truth and consider how you envision this village in one year, five years and beyond.

We have seen developers take away pieces of our village and immediately resort to county zoning applications that provide for high density housing.

Our trustees and village president fought for us. So far most property that was disconnected has not been built upon. That is because the trustees and residents stood united to preserve the character of the village.

Listen to the candidates to see if they are divisive and negative. If we elect trustees who advocate “progressive zoning,” a euphemism for “feathering,” or offering new lots and homes on land under 5 acres, we will see the erosion of our village as we know it. This election is critical to our future.
