Bulls 101, Bobcats 84

Can’t lose Booz: Carlos Boozer’s production has dropped in recent weeks, but the Bulls didn’t want this. Boozer suffered a sprained left ankle late in Wednesday’s win thanks to a Kwame Brown flagrant foul. The injury doesn’t appear to be serious, but Boozer figures to miss a few games. The good news is backup Taj Gibson is playing well, with 14 points against Charlotte.

Fourth quarter stretch: The Bulls led by 6 at the end of three quarters, then pulled away thanks in part to Kyle Korver, who scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth. Derrick Rose also had 20 points.

Vinny assistance: The Bulls got some unexpected good news when Boston lost at home to coach Vinny Del Negro and the Clippers. Don’t laugh, the Bulls did the same thing in December. The Bulls now trail the Celtics by just 2 games in the loss column for first place in the East.
