Bulls trade Johnson to Toronto

James Johnson's return from the NBA Developmental League didn't last too long in Chicago.

The Bulls announced late Tuesday afternoon that they traded Johnson to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Miami's 2011 first-round draft choice held by Toronto.

The move frees up some cap space for the Bulls before Thursday's trading deadline.

Johnson, a 6-foot-9 small forward from Wake Forest, averaged 3.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game with the Bulls this season but appeared in only 13 games and most recently spend time in the D-League. As a rookie last season, Johnson played in 65 games.

Johnson was the 16th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

&bul; Mike McGraw will have more on the Bulls later today.
