How and why?This is an area that I am unfamiliar with, however if there are programs that are not paying for themselves, I believe they should either be eliminated or altered in a way that would make them worth keeping.Is there any additional open space the park district needs to acquire? Please describe.After the recent purchase of the property for the new recreation center, I believe at this point in time, we need to improve and/or maintain the land that is already owned. In addition to focusing our efforts on developing the new facility.Are there any unmet recreational needs? If yes, what are they and how would you propose paying for them? Or, should they wait until the economy improves?I am not aware of any unmet recreational needs at this time, but believe it is important that this be continually evaluated as the needs of the community change.Would you support sharing/pooling resources (i.e. printing, vehicles) with other local governments (school districts, village, etc.)? If so, what areas would you consider combining or merging to save money or improve efficiency?I would absolutley be in favor of sharing resources with other local governments in order to reduce costs and preserve resources. This is an area that I would need to know more about, in order to provide input.If you are a newcomer, what prompted you to run for the park board? If you're an incumbent, list your accomplishments or key initiatives in which you played a leadership role.I have been a Carol Stream resident for over eighteen years and have enjoyed many park districts progams, in addition I have also taken pleasure in coaching youth soccer for six years. My two children have also been actively involved in much of what the park district has to offer. The desire to give back to the community is the biggest reason that I running for this position, secondly I believe that my backround in both landscaping and construction make me an ideal candidate.
