Questions & Answers

What programs aren't paying for themselves? Would you keep, eliminate or change them? How and why?

If a program isn't paying for itself but has community interest we need to find out why it is not paying for itself and how to continue thoes programs but get them to pay for themselves. The programs there are little or no interest in either need to be overhauled or eliminated. We need to keep our residents coming to Roselle instead of going to neighboring Park Districts for programs.

Is there any additional open space the park district needs to acquire? Please describe.

We need to focus on improving and maintaining what the park district already has before looking at acquiring more debt.

Are there any unmet recreational needs? If yes, what are they and how would you propose paying for them? Or, should they wait until the economy improves?

There are some programs that the community would like to see, however I would have to wait and see if they were fiscally possible.

Would you support sharing/pooling resources (i.e. printing, vehicles) with other local governments (school districts, village, etc.)? If so, what areas would you consider combining or merging to save money or improve efficiency?

If you are a newcomer, what prompted you to run for the park board? If you're an incumbent, list your accomplishments or key initiatives in which you played a leadership role.

I have lived in Roselle for several years and have four of my five children in Park District programs. I have volunteered for many years and felt like I would like to become more involved.
