Would you keep, eliminate or change them? How and why?Traditionally, the Senior programs do not pay for themselves, but they are critical to that segment of our population. I would definitely keep, and hope to expand these services. We need to support and embrace the older members of society. They have much to offer and we can learn from their experiences. Is there any additional open space the park district needs to acquire? Please describe. There is little open space left within our boundaries. There are a couple of small parcels near the pool that if available, would be prime property. The expansion of the pool and the possible centralization of our Administrative facilities hinge on the acquisition of those parcels. Are there any unmet recreational needs? If yes, what are they and how would you propose paying for them? Or, should they wait until the economy improves?I am proud to say that we have not had any tax increases in nearly 20 years. Although we may not have certain amenities, (ie. indoor pool.) We do have an agreement with the Streamwood Park District that allows our residents to use their facility at resident rates. I believe that we should maintain our current facilities and wait for better economic times to consider any major expansions of services/facilities.Would you support sharing/pooling resources (i.e. printing, vehicles) with other local governments (school districts, village, etc.)? If so, what areas would you consider combining or merging to save money or improve efficiency? We continue to explore these options. The agreement with Streamwood, which I pioneered, for pool usage being one of them. We have had some discussions with the Village regarding possible sharing of services for Village and Park District vehicles and equipment. If you are a newcomer, what prompted you to run for the park board? If you're an incumbent, list your accomplishments or key initiatives in which you played a leadership role.Candidate did not respond.
