Nuts and berries topped with a little honey might make a fitting meal for your average bear.
But what do feed 35 or 40 hungry Bears fans? Donny Toole at Donny's Pizzeria in Arlington Heights thinks they have the answer: A 20-inch by 50-inch pizza made with 11 pounds of dough and four pounds of cheese.
Meat, including the pepperoni to spell out "Da Bears" and vegetables add another 6 pounds to the behemoth.
Taking up the entire shelf of the pizza oven, and adding up to 1,000 square inches, Donny Toole they have created the largest pizza in the Chicago area.
"I did quite a few Internet searches and largest one I found was 456 square inches," said Toole.
Calling it the "Epic," he said his inspiration came from how big Sunday's game between the Bears and Packers will be.
They had to make a paddle from plywood to get the pizza in and out of the oven, get custom-made boxes for it and deliver it in a catering van.
Not to be left out, a Packers fan has asked if Toole can do a Packers pizza as well.
"Sure," said Toole. "She orders from us every Friday."
Considering the cheese on the giant pie comes from the state just over Illinois' border, that is probably OK.
