Cleveland State routs Loyola 73-55

CLEVELAND — Aaron Pogue had 16 points and 12 rebounds as Cleveland State breezed to a 73-55 victory over Loyola of Chicago in a Horizon League game Thrusday night.

Trevon Harmon added 14 points while Jeremy Montgomery and Norris Cole each contributed 12 points for the Vikings (14-1, 3-0).

After spotting Loyola (9-5, 0-3) the game's first five points, Cleveland State led the final 33 minutes. The Vikings enjoyed their biggest margin, 31 points, after Charlie Woods made two free throws with 6:04 to play.

The Ramblers had no double-figure scorers as Walt Gibler and Courtney Stanley shared top-scoring honors with nine points each. They outscored Cleveland State 15-2 to finish the game as the Vikings went the final 6:30 without a field goal, but still ended up with their most lopsided defeat of the season. After winning its first seven games, Loyola has lost five of seven.
