Forgiveness needed in the world

There is a hugely catchy tune in the musical Cabaret called, “Money Makes the World Go Around.” Yes, catchy, but surely ironic since the whole musical is a reflection of fascist days in Germany.

Strangely, I thought of it in connection with Bud Domagata's letter in the Herald (Dec. 17) where he claimed, in connection with Jane Fonda's alleged indiscretions, that “there are just some things that should not be forgiven.”

I deeply hope this is not true. If we never forgive, we all get stuck in a bad spot.

I'd much rather believe, as I do, that “forgiveness makes the world go around.”

And allows it to move forward, too.
