Geneva History Center plans creche luncheon

Plans are under way for the Geneva History Center's seventh annual Creche Luncheon, an annual fundraiser for the History Center. The luncheon continues a Geneva tradition first established at the Little Traveler more than 75 years ago.

In 1930, the Little Traveler's Kate Raftery purchased an antique Neapolitan Nativity set, which became a focal point for a series of holiday luncheons. It now resides at the Geneva History Center, where the holiday tradition continues today.

This year, the luncheon is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, and Saturday, Dec. 11, in the Community Room of the Geneva History Center, 113 S. Third St. Proceeds will be used to conserve figures displayed in the Nativity scene.

Tickets are $55 and can be purchased at the History Center.
