Loyola defeats Texas-Pan American 79-57

Geoff McCammon and Walt Gibler scored 20 points apiece as Loyola, Ill., won its own Nick Kladis Classic with a 79-57 victory over Texas-Pan American on Sunday night.

Jordan Hicks scored 10 points and Andy Polka had a game-high 11 rebounds for Loyola (3-0), which won all three tournament games to claim first place.

Perry Petty and Julius Hearn led Texas-Pan American (1-2) with nine points each, and Petty had four steals in the first meeting between the schools.

Loyola held a decided shooting advantage. The Ramblers hit 25 of 53 (47.2 percent), including 9 of 18 from 3-point range. The Broncs were limited to 19 of 56 (33.9 percent) and 5 of 20 (25.0 percent) from long range.

Loyola broke away from an early 9-9 tie to lead 21-11 with 9:35 left in the first half. McCammon had four of the Ramblers' six 3-pointers in the first half.
