Georgia man gets prison for 7th DUI

A 55-year-old Georgia man with six drunk driving convictions in his home state was sentenced to three years in prison Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to a seventh DUI he received a little more than a year ago. Wheeling police stopped Bobby Crumley for a traffic violation shortly after midnight on Oct. 30, 2009 near Wolf Road and Foxboro Drive, prosecutors said during his bond hearing last year.

Police charged him with aggravated driving under the influence after the Rome, Ga. resident failed several field sobriety tests and his blood-alcohol content registered .198, more than double the legal limit, authorities said.

Because of his multiple DUI convictions, Crumley faced up to 30 years in prison.
