Credit Brady for social stances

After watching the debate between Gov. Quinn and Sen. Brady, I was left dumbfounded by the discussion on social issues. The panelist's question made Sen. Brady seem hypocritical for being in favor of the death penalty and in opposition of abortion.

This assumption does not make sense. While the death penalty puts to death a person who has been tried and convicted of taking another's life, abortion takes the life of an innocent being, one who has done no wrong nor been accused of doing so. Gov. Quinn is the real hypocrite, denying to support the death penalty, while openly supporting abortion. This is contradictory.

As a freshman in college, voting for the first time in my life, I will cast my vote for Bill Brady because not only is he concerned about the economic stance of the state of Illinois, but also because he is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in.
