UIC basketball scrimmage Friday

UIC men's basketball fans will have a chance to see the 2010-11 Flames in action on Friday night when the team holds its first scrimmage of the season at the UIC Pavilion beginning at 7 p.m.

The event, which is free-of-charge and open to the public, will also include a three-point shooting and dunk contest, and the Flames players and coaches will be signing autographs for the fans in attendance.

Additionally, 15-20 former UIC players and alumni are expected to be in attendance for the scrimmage. Concessions will be available. The first half will run for a full 20 minutes, while the second half will run 10 minutes in length. At the conclusion of the scrimmage, the three-point shooting competition will ensue, followed by the dunk contest.

Individual game tickets for the Dec. 18 doubleheader with UIC and Illinois at the United Center will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. To purchase tickets, visit ticketmaster.com, or call (312) 413-UIC1.

The Flames will open the 2010-11 campaign on Nov. 10, at Pittsburgh in the opening round of the 2K Sports Classic benefitting Coaches versus Cancer.
