Miles sizes the National League Championship Series
Giants vs. Phillies
How the Giants can win
Manager Bruce Bochy has made one good move already, moving Jonathan Sanchez up to pitch Game 2 in Philly. Matt Cain, who is 0-3 with a 6.23 ERA against the Phillies lifetime, will pitch Game 3 in the bigger park in San Francisco. That figures to help the Giants. On offense, the Giants have been opportunistic in the postseason, and they'll have to do that against H2O that is, Phillies starting pitchers Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels and Roy Oswalt. The Giants have beaten each of the H2O members this year. San Francisco could use jolt of power from first baseman Aubrey Huff.
How the Phillies can win
They just need to keep doing what they've been doing. Halladay goes up against two-time defending Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum in what could be a Game 1 classic. The Phillies will have to be patient with the Giants' pitchers. Philadelphia batters had a line of .226/.308/.362 against San Francisco pitching this year. Jayson Werth brings plenty of patience to the plate every game, and Chase Utley is an igniter.
Intangibles
Pat “The Bat Burrell of the Giants is a former Phillies outfielder who knows all about the hostile crowds at Citizens Bank Park. He won't be fazed. The Giants know what it is to claw for wins, as they went 18-8 down the stretch and overcame the Padres in the NL West. Phillies manager Charlie Manuel and the Giants' Bruce Bochy get it done quietly, and they are two of the best in the game. Nobody figures to get outmanaged here, so all the focus should be on the field.

Bruce Miles' prediction: Phillies in six games.
