Power outage closes 95th Street Library

Power has been restored to Naperville's 95th Street Library and the facility will reopen at 9 a.m. Friday.

The building was closed all day Thursday after a small fire in an electrical box knocked out power to the facility at 3015 Cedar Glade Drive around 1 a.m.

The power outage also temporarily knocked out the library system's computer servers, which are housed at 95th Street. The library's website was back up and running by mid-day and patrons again could access their accounts online.

“We're very happy to have those services back available to our patrons, Deputy Director Julie Rothenfluh said. “And the fix is in the works so we're anticipating being back at full service when the doors open (Friday).

The city's two other public libraries, Naper Boulevard and the downtown Nichols facility, both remained open.
