Four arrested in DuPage prostitution sting

Four people are facing prostitution-related charges after DuPage County sheriff's police conducted an undercover operation in an unincorporated area near Willowbrook.

Authorities said Friday they received an anonymous tip from a resident about a possible house of prostitution being run out of the Stratford Green Condominiums.

Undercover officers made an appointment Thursday to meet a woman who offered to perform a sexual act in exchange for money. The woman, Wan Jun Xu, was arrested. The 25-year-old from Seattle been charged with one count of prostitution, a misdemeanor.

When detectives learned several men were scheduled to meet the woman, they conducted an undercover sting operation that resulted in three men being charged.

Kurt Spurgeon, 53, of the 40 block of Wrightwood, Glendale Heights; Richard A. Marchese, 59, of the 7800 block of Queens Street, Downers Grove; and Sunil Dass, 39, of the 1300 block Brentwood Trail, Bolingbrook, all were charged with one count of soliciting for a prostitute, a misdemeanor. Dass also was charged with resisting a peace officer, a misdemeanor.

Sheriff's police said Spurgeon, Marchese, and Dass have bonded out of DuPage County jail. Xu was being held at the jail.
