Vacant home catches fire in Mundelein
Mundelein fire investigators are still probing the cause of a Wednesday morning blaze on the 400 block of East Oak Drive.
The fire department said no one was injured in the incident that occurred about 10 a.m.
Officials added the vacant single-story home recently was under construction, but no workers were on the scene when fire erupted. The blaze rose to a first alarm, drawing in firefighters from Libertyville, Long Grove, Countryside, Lincolnshire and others.
Witnesses on the scene Wednesday said it appeared most of the damage was in the rear of the vacant building. Officials said they were trying to determine the extent of the damage.
