Naperville woman in fair condition after being hit by car

An 88-year-old Naperville woman who was hospitalized after being hit by a car while crossing 87th Street Sunday evening was upgraded to fair condition Monday, authorities said.

Police said they continue to weigh possible "traffic-related charges" against the driver.

Mary K. Folden, of Lancaster Circle in Naperville, was crossing 87th Street about 7:10 p.m. near Lancaster Drive when she was struck by a westbound blue 2006 Scion, police said. The car was driven by 26-year-old Britney M. Pagliuco of Naperville.

Rescue crews transported Folden to Edward Hospital for treatment.

Pagliuco was not injured.

Officials said there is no crosswalk at the intersection and witnesses indicated visibility for westbound traffic was reduced due to the setting sun.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the police department traffic unit at (630) 305-5285.
