Palin to raise cash for Illinois GOP

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is set to help the Illinois Republican Party raise much needed cash for the upcoming general election.

The party announced late Monday afternoon that Palin would headline a May 12 fundraiser at the Westin O'Hare in Rosemont, just before she hits the stage nearby at the Rosemont Theatre for a WIND 560-AM radio promotion event.

In a blast e-mail to supporters, party chairman Pat Brady said the event will cost $500 per person for general admission. Supporters can give or raise $10,000 to be part of a "VIP Reception" that will include a Palin photo opportunity or $25,000 will get them a seat at an exclusive round-table with a photo.

It remains unclear which politicians will join the Fox News contributor and former vice presidential candidate on the stage. State Sen. Bill Brady of Bloomington and U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk of Highland Park are topping the party's Nov. 2 ticket, running for governor and U.S. senator, respectively.
