"Crazy Heart"Jeff Bridges won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his wonderful performance as an aging country singer. Bridges plays Bad Blake and exposes the character in a way that everyone can understand. Blake has led a hard life and, after all the years on the road, has a small but loyal following. His prot#233;g#233; Tommy Sweet (Colin Farrell) has become successful and performs at large venues. But Blake's life changes after he is interviewed by Jean Craddock (Maggie Gyllenhaal) for an Arizona newspaper. They begin a relationship that lets him see what his life has become and what he needs to do to make the positive steps to really live.Robert Duvall is terrific in the film, and everyone in the cast pulls it off. Bridges does his own singing."Cheech Chong's Hey Watch This"Fans of the comic duo will love this program that was filmed before a sold-out audience in San Antonio, Texas. It was the first time that they had performed together in 25 years. At the height of their career, Cheech Chong had hit records, hit movies and packed concerts throughout the country. Here, you will feel as if you were there. The two deliver, as the show begins with Tommy picking up Cheech who is hitchhiking, and of course, they talk about dope. Their chemistry is still there, and they are still really funny."Beginning of the End"If you saw this film as a child, you were likely scared to death, locking your windows at night well after that first viewing.Reporter Audrey Ames (Peggy Castle) investigates a story about the town and residents of Ludlow, Ill., being destroyed. She learns about giant mutant grasshoppers, all tied into experiments being done by Dr. Ed Wainwright (Peter Graves). The grasshoppers destroy the troops that are sent to the town and head to Chicago. The military wants to drop an atomic bomb on Chicago to destroy the grasshoppers, but Dr. Wainwright comes up with a different solution. This is a classic B-film."Falcon Crest: Season One"The nighttime soap opera was a hit for CBS and followed "Dallas" for many years.
