Police: Man brandishes gun at Kentucky State

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Police have arrested a man who they say pointed a gun at people in Kentucky State University's student center.

Police spokesman Maj. Fred Deaton says there were no injuries, and the suspect was arrested without incident in a computer lab at the school in Frankfort.

Christopher Sims of Louisville was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm on school property, carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct.

Kentucky State spokeswoman Felicia Lewis told The State Journal newspaper the campus wasn't locked down. Students and staff were alerted through text message, e-mail and campus televisions.

Deaton said he didn't know whether Sims was a student at Kentucky State.
