For Kane County Board District 15, Republican: Wojnicki

Barb Wojnicki is our choice in the Kane County Board District 15 Republican primary over Susan Secondi and Albert Lenkaitis. Wojnicki is the incumbent and has served on the board since first elected in 1998. The three candidates seem to be on the same page about most of the pressing issues facing Kane County.

Her challengers, though, do believe that because she is not in Chairman Karen McConnaughay's inner-circle that her voice will not be heard, thus making her an ineffective representative of her constituents.

We think differently. Having a board member that is not beholden to the chairman and one that will question leadership when necessary is good. A healthy debate and an alternative voice is needed to make sure all aspects of a given issue are fleshed out.

Both Susan Secondi, who holds no elected office, and Albert Lenkaitis, a Campton Hills village trustee, are formidable challengers for Wojnicki and should be congratulated for stepping up to serve their county.
