No injuries reported in fire at Mundelein liquor store
The Mundelein Fire Department is investigating what sparked a fire Sunday morning at a liquor store in a strip mall.
Mundelein firefighters arrived at the store in the 600 block of North Midlothian Road shortly after 5 a.m., officials said. After seeing smoke coming from the roof, they upgraded the alarm for additional assistance.
Firefighters located the fire in the shop’s utility room and put it out by about 5:19 a.m. A search confirmed fire did not spread to adjacent units.
No one was injured in the fire, and damage estimates were unavailable Sunday.
In all, 22 firefighters staffing five fire engines, one ladder truck, one quint, one squad and two ambulances responded to the scene, fire officials said. The Buffalo Grove, Barrington Countryside, Countryside, Libertyville, Lincolnshire, Lake Forest, Lake Zurich, and Round Lake fire departments assisted, as did Mundelein police officers.
