Law enforcement investigating bank activity in Des Plaines School District 62
Unauthorized financial activity in a Des Plaines Elementary School District 62 bank account has been reported to police, officials announced Monday.
The activity was discovered May 20, according to a District 62 news release. It originated outside the district.
All district bank accounts have been flagged and secured to prevent additional fraud, according to the news release.
In addition to an undisclosed law enforcement agency, a fraud team from the district’s bank is investigating.
The school board met in a closed-door session Friday night to discuss the issue. The board took no action in open session after that discussion, a district spokeswoman said.
No other details were available.
