Dodge, duck and dive at Winter Championships

The National Amateur Dodgeball Association and dodgeball enthusiasts will host the Winter Nationals Indoor Dodgeball Championships Wednesday, Dec. 28, and Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road, in Schaumburg. Teams in youth and adult divisions will compete for the title of Indoor National Champions in the annual games.

The youth competition, a Schaumburg CAN program which promotes healthy activity for children, is set for Dec. 28 for boys and girls in grades four to 12. Check-in begins at 2:30 p.m. A captain’s meeting is at 3:15 p.m. with matches following at 3:30 p.m. Registration deadline for the youth competition is Tuesday, Dec. 20. Youth and high school fee is $105 for a team of 6-10 players.

The adult competition for ages 18 and up will be held Saturday, Jan. 7. Check- in will begin at 1 p.m. A captain’s meeting will be held at 1:45 p.m. with matches following at 2 p.m. Men’s, women’s and co-rec divisions are available. Registration deadline for the adult competition is Thursday, Dec. 29. Adult fee is $125 for a team of 6-10 players.

The Winter Nationals is a NADA sanctioned event with games officiated by NADA staff. All players will receive a T-shirt. Team prizes will be awarded to champions.
