Glen Ellyn 14U Gray Phillies Softball

On July 31, the Glen Ellyn Phillies 14U Gray softball team placed fifth in the Northern Nationals Softball Tournament in Novi, Mich.!

After losing a pair in pool play they went on a hot streak winning three straight to take home their trophy.

All 12 players contributed in what was a whirlwind tournament of hot weather along with some really hot pitching and hitting by the Philly gals.

The team was managed by Ed Eichele.

The Gray team consisted of: front row, from left, Nicole Schmieder, Payton Carli, and Reilee Flanagan; second row, Jenna Foreman, Ally Miller, Vanessa Eichele, and Katie Spreitzer; third row, Natalie O'Dowd, Emma Kiel, Taylor Carli, Kaylee Biscan, and Angelica Eichele; and back row: coaches Scott Miller, Dan Schmieder, Bill Flanagan, Ed Eichele, Rich Biscan.

The Glen Ellyn Phillies are holding tryouts for full season Phillies teams for ages 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U.

All tryouts will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 13-14 at Ackerman Park, E. 800 St. Charles Road in Glen Ellyn. Check out the GEGSA website for more information at www.gegsa.org.
