New traffic signals to be installed along Lakewood Road

The construction contract was approved by the McHenry County Board Aug. 16 and work is now underway installing two new traffic signals along Lakewood Road located in the village of Lake in the Hills.

Female Volunteers Needed for Free Ultrasounds at College of DuPage

The Diagnostic Medical Imaging Sonography program at College of DuPage is seeking pregnant and non-pregnant volunteers to participate in free afternoon scanning sessions this fall. Volunteer appointments are available at 3, 3:30 and 4 p.m. on Wednesdays through Dec. 7 (except Nov. 23 due to Thanksgiving break), and three openings are available for each time period. Pregnant volunteers can be in any stage, while non-pregnant female volunteers are needed for scans of pelvic anatomy, such as the uterus and ovaries.

First Congregational Church in Crystal Lake held an installation ceremony for the Rev. Eric C. Fistler Sept. 18. In 2013, the St. Charles native joined another pastor to start the "Pulpit Fiction Podcast," a weekly discussion on the weekly scripture readings.
