The decision ends a battle about the historical value of the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed farmhouse that is also adjacent to the rail line.

Opponents: Brunner, Muirhead deals will tarnish Kane forest imageFeb 7, 2015 7:41 AM - A handful of local residents decried two pending deals that will introduce new uses into two Kane County forest preserves. Residents said the introduction of ComEd power lines and a for-profit organic farm will destroy the credibility of the district for any landowners contemplating selling their property to the district in hopes of it remaining pristine natural space. "The message sent to future land granters will be clear: The forest preserve cannot be trusted," one critic said.
