Pujols to Cubs? Probably not; Fielder? Maybe
Dec 6, 2011 9:22 PM - The Cubs spent much of Tuesday trying not to comment on reports that they had made an offer to free-agent first baseman Albert Pujols. Prince Fielder is still lurking, and he might be the better option. New manager Dale Sveum met the media at the winter meetings in Dallas.

Dunn a great fit for Sox and the Cell
Dec 2, 2010 7:05 PM - Adam Dunn figures to be a monster signing for the White Sox. As far as the Cubs go, general manager Jim Hendry always has loved Dunn, but he came too pricey for the North Siders this year, and the Cubs had concerns about Dunn's defense at first base.

Things to like about Mike (Quade)
Oct 20, 2010 5:20 PM - The one great thing about being a beat writer is that you really get the feel of a team by being around it almost every day. Of course, the one danger is that you can get too close to the forest for the trees, and that's something all of us in this crazy business have to guard against. You want to build some empathy, but you don't want to get too close.
