Jun 28, 2012 11:02 AM - Cubs manager Dale Sveum admitted Wednesday there is some concern about pitcher Jeff Samardzija. The New York Mets cuffed around Samardzija and reliever Casey Coleman and came away with a 17-1 victory at Wrigley Field. Samardzija has not won since May 29.

Matt Garza's errant heave cost him complete game
Apr 12, 2012 7:57 PM - Matt Garza let his excitable-boy nature get the best of him Thursday. Garza beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-0 at Wrigley Field, but he missed a chance at a complete game when he threw wildly to first base on what should have been a game-ending grounder. The Cubs improved to 2-5.

Russell could spell lefty relief for Cubs

James Russell, who performed creditably as a reliever last year, says he can be the guy to replace Marshall.
