Poynton presented the colorful bouquet to 8-year-old Hailey Thorp, who thought of the name for a new playground at Paulus Park. Hailey received the flowers after giving a brown Lakeside Lookout Playground sign to Poynton.

The proposal for Kuechmann Park calls for the land to be improved with upgraded trails, a fitness area and enhancements for existing wildlife and migratory birds. "We sat down over the course of a month to put some meat in the plan," Lake Zurich Recreation Manager Bonnie Caputo said.

Students create public art for Lake Zurich's Paulus ParkJul 11, 2013 5:24 PM - Lake Zurich High School art students have left a mark on the village that'll be showcased at a reception Sunday afternoon. More than 20 students in the school's Advanced Placement studio art class created a mural that's been installed on an exterior wall of the Barn at Paulus Park. The mural is made up of 29 panels stretching 40 feet along the barn wall.
