St. Edward shoots past Alden-HebronNov 26, 2014 10:21 PM - St. Edward boys basketball coach P.J. White is often more vocal than the soft-spoken approach he took Wednesday night. White, who typically can shout with the best of them either on the court or the football field, joked after St. Edward's 80-54 thumping of Alden-Hebron in Pool A play of the 8th annual Westminster Christian Thanksgiving Classic in Elgin that he was "just saving his voice" for the rest of the season. But when you can barely hear anything from the outspoken White, it can raise some eyebrows.

Westminster Christian loses tough one to HebronSep 26, 2014 11:59 PM - After upsetting previously unbeaten Hiawatha last weekend, Westminster Christian entered Friday's game with Alden-Hebron with momentum heavily on its side. In just their second season of football, the 2-2 Warriors were poised to move a win closer to their first playoff berth in front of an overflow homecoming crowd in Elgin. But the Giants spoiled Westminster's celebration behind one of the most unlikely of heroes. Tight end Trevor Redlin hadn't practiced or played one snap at running back all season. But when an injury knocked star tailback Josh Johnson out of the game, Redlin slid into the backfield and rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown in the second half to lead Alden-Hebron past Westminster 15-13 in a Northeastern Athletic Conference game.

Westminster Christian staying positiveSep 28, 2013 7:54 PM - The first victory in Westminster Christian's inaugural football season remained elusive Saturday, but the Warriors' resolve to continue working toward it remained steadfast following a 54-27 loss to Alden-Hebron. "We have homecoming next week and we have to play with pride and represent our school well and get that first win," said Westminster quarterback Max Tucker, who completed 13 of 24 attempts for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns. "Like I've said before, we just want to do our school proud. We just have to keep working hard. I think we're only a couple of plays away each game from blowing the game open."
