The head of a Schaumburg home health care company was sentenced Tuesday to six years in prison for fraudulently billing Medicare for unnecessary services, officials said.

Final Summer 2016 Prairie Tour at College of DuPage Aug. 24

The final summer 2016 tour of the Russell Kirt Prairie will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24. Participants will learn about the wildlife, natural processes and to identify some of the more than 100 species of native Illinois plants found throughout the 18-acre prairie preserve as they take a guided walk through the College's prairie restorations. VILLA PARK- State Senator Tom Cullerton's bipartisan government consolidation model may soon be applied throughout the state to streamline and remove redundancies in local government. Senate Bill 2994, which requires all Illinois county boards to submit a report to the General Assembly recommending units of government that may be dissolved or consolidated, was signed into law.

A Hanover Park man was charged with aggravated assault after Streamwood police said he threatened an Uber driver with a baseball bat. The man told police he mistakenly thought the driver was dating his ex-girlfriend, the police report said.

Chicago's Indo-American Heritage Museum will host the "Jazz By the Lake" concert featuring pianist Vijay Iyer and guitarist Fareed Haque, Sept. 18. The benefit will raise funds for the museum which honors the heritage and contributions of the more than two million Americans of Asian Indian origin.
