Defending girls gymnastics state champion Prairie Ridge co-op began its quest to win another title on Wednesday night at the Conant regional. While the Wolves had a few falls and wobbles, they still looked quite impressive.

Buffalo Grove's girls basketball team is one win away from an accomplishment that hasn't happened at the school for almost 10 years. After Tuesday's 45-27 win at Prospect, the Mid-Suburban East champs will be looking for their first undefeated conference season since coach Tom Dineen's 2006-07 club.
Walsh, Reibel warming to the task at Eckerd

A couple of former Hawks are flying high in Florida while playing in the Sunshine State Conference. Former Harper College basketball players Kevin Walsh (St. Viator) and Brad Reibel (Prospect) are members of the Eckerd College men's basketball program, which recently had a 16-game winning streak, the longest active win streak in NCAA Division II.

Barrington spoils it for Mid-Suburban League foes

Cast in the role of spoiler before the Mid-Suburban League wrestling tournament, Barrington embraced its identity. All the way to a championship. The Broncos turned the tables on some powerhouse programs, using a sensational final session to stun runner-up Prospect and third-place Conant to win the MSL tournament Saturday afternoon at Palatine.
Matters, Prospect pull out victory over Wheeling

Prospect got the basket when it mattered most. Knights coach Gabrielle Lovin called a time out with 36 seconds left to set up a play in which senior guard Nikki Matters ended up scoring the decisive layup with 11.6 seconds left in a 42-40 Mid-Suburban East girls basketball triumph.
Swedura's timely effort helps Prospect past Wheeling
